Aussois is the skiing area in which the same-named mountainvillage and the village Sardières are situated. The skiing area is ideally suited for families with children and beginning skiers; there are a lot of green and simple blue pistes. For the more advanced skier there are several red and a few black pistes.
The skiing area, with 55 kilometres of slopes, is situated at the southern bank, which makes it very sunny. The slopes are rather wooded and go to an altitude with a maximum of 2750 metres. If deemed necessary these can be maintained via snow cannons.
