This very wide skiing area is well-suited for people of every level of skill that like winter sports. The area consists of the five village Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoëns, Sixt and Morillon. Besides Flaine these are all authentic villages. Every village has its own skiing area which, besides Sixt, are all connected via lifts. However, you can reach Sixt via Flaine, if you're skiing.
The villages Samoëns (50 kilometres of pistes) and Les Carroz (55 kilometres of pistes) are all attractive for beginning skiers. Here you'll find mostly blue and red pistes. Flaine (150 kilometres of pistes) is better suited for advanced skiers. Here you'll find a few difficult red and black buckelpistes. You'll also find several off-piste possibilities.
Snowboarders can go on a razzle in the Jampark, which is situated in the area of Flaine; one of the biggest snowboard parks in Europe.
Cross-country skiers will probably have the best time in the area of the village Samoëns. Here are ca. 50 kilometres of loipes in the area named 'Vallée de Haut Gifre', between the villages Samoëns and Sixt.
For people that like to walk, there are 'Big-foot' possibilities.
