Val Cenis consists of the villages Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg. The area is well-suited for families, thanks to the low prices and the child-friendliness.
Since winter 2008 the skiing area of Val Cenis is connected with Termignon, then they renamed it to Le Grand Val Cenis, with a reason: which made the area ca. 55% larger and now has 125 kilometres of pistes!
Around half of the pistes are on the northern slopes, which have a high certainty of snow and are mostly above 2000 metres. The area is suitable for skiers of every level of skill. For beginners there are easy green pistes, like l'Escargot; the biggest green piste of Europe. At the difficult black piste advanced skiers can go on a spree.
For snowboarders there are two snow parks, next to the slopes of "Familiale" and the "St. Pierre". Val Cenis has 12 kilometres of loipes, but the neighbouring village Bessans has 80 kilometres of loipes for people that like to cross-country ski. The peaks at an altitude of 3000 metres offer a wide range of walking possibilities. In both villages they organise snowshoe walks.
